Neither of them have stood the test of time, with both of them entirely out of the picture two years later
Putting in work to get a 1/1 flier every turn just doesn't cut it in Standard, Commander, or really anywhere else where uncommons aren't a key feature of the format

This is an incredibly flavorful nod, but as far as the card itself goes, The Darkness Crystals mana value and activated ability are a bit too expensive to be exciting
